Our Team 

Jeremy Leckie
Managing Member, MJ Housing Preservation Initiative LLC

Jeremy Leckie has over 20 years of experience in affordable housing preservation, development, and operations. As a managing member of MJ Housing Preservation Initiative LLC and principal in several affiliated ownership entities, Jeremy has led the acquisition, rehabilitation, and long-term management of HUD and USDA-RD properties across multiple states.

He has extensive experience structuring and executing preservation transactions using 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), as well as other federal, state, and local funding sources — including HUD Project-Based Section 8 (PBRA), USDA RD 515, HOME funds, tax-exempt bonds, and seller financing. His portfolio includes LIHTC-funded rehabilitations at Capitol Plaza Apartments (Salem, OR), Oregon City Terrace (Oregon City, OR), Anderlik Manor (Lebanon, OR), and Briarwood Manor (Keizer, OR). He also led the acquisition of Jefferson Court, Victorian Arms, and Golden Rain in Grants Pass, OR — a portfolio currently in predevelopment for full preservation and rehabilitation using LIHTC and other resources. Earlier in his career, he successfully turned around Riverview Apartments, a HUD foreclosure in Granite Falls, MN.

Jeremy currently oversees the day-to-day operations and compliance across MJ Housing’s portfolio. He brings an ownership-driven, hands-on approach to long-term stewardship, with a focus on physical preservation, program integrity, and resident stability.

Michael Rice, CPA   
Managing Member, MJ Housing Preservation Initiative LLC

Michael Rice is a certified public accountant with over 25 years of experience in affordable housing finance, auditing, and ownership. As a managing member of MJ Housing Preservation Initiative LLC and principal in several affiliated partnerships, Michael has played a critical role in the acquisition, preservation, and financial oversight of HUD and USDA-RD properties across multiple states.

Michael is a key partner in the ownership and redevelopment of Briarwood Manor (Keizer, OR), Anderlik Manor (Lebanon, OR), and Oregon City Terrace (Oregon City, OR), all of which have received 9% LIHTC awards for full preservation and rehabilitation. He is also a long-time limited partner in Park Street Apartments, a 40-unit USDA RD 515 property in Hollister, California.

With a background in auditing for both for-profit and nonprofit affordable housing owners, Michael brings deep expertise in regulatory compliance, financial controls, and capital planning. His work ensures that MJ Housing’s preservation projects are fiscally sound and positioned for long-term success.
